США, г. Санта-Фе (штат Нью-Мексико)

Человек-оркестр Бейрут (Зак Кондон), в 2006 году выпустивший удивительную работу Gulag Orkestar, навеянную воспоминаниями о несуществующей музыке несуществующей страны, творческой биографии… не имеет. Пока. До Gulag Orkestar была лишь пара самопальных альбомов «для друзей» (записаны в 15 и 16 лет). Ну а с главной на сегодня пластинкой Заку помогали барабанщик Джереми Барнс (Jeremy Barnes) из Neutral Milk Hotel и скрипачка Хезер Трост (Heather Trost) из A Hawk and a Hacksaw. Сегодня Заку 21 год.

Дуже приємний і мелодійний інді фолк з трубами, баянами і багатьма різними інструментами...саундтрек мого літа) щось такого намішаного як Grizzly Bear та Andrew Bird ( теж дуже кльовий чувак, з часом і його закину)...ех

Я The Flying Club как-то слышал и какую-то песню с предыдущего альбома ) Понравилось, дай бог им здоровья
 
полюбила их после клипа на трек Elephant Gun который в кинотеатре видела в подборке короткометражек.

очень люблю...впервые увидела клип Elephant Gun в какой-то подборке короткометражек ,и теперь очень часто их слушаю.
Создает замечательное настроение, думаю что они хороши на концертах, только вот с последними вроде как проблема, если ничего не изменилось с тех пор, летом отменили много концертов, но довольно невнятным причинам

ахахах вот как полезно ходить на фьюче шотс. через пару месяцев на фьче шотс был еще их клип посткардс фром итали, тоже хорош.
и они хороши очень

Данная работа - не является предтечей альбома. Первая часть - это результат работы Зака с 19-piece Mexican funeral band. Вторая часть это воскрешение, возможно переделка (не знаю) его ранних домашних работ . Обе части были закончены еще в 2008-ом году.

Beirut - Live at the Music Hall of Williamsburg (2009)

You could tell what kind of a show it was going to be 3 hours before the doors even opened. Outside Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg, a few stone cold kids stood shivering on line. Their hope? Get through those restrictive doors by any means necessary. A sold out show meant not all of them would make it. But if by chance a few did, a fantastic night of music featuring Brooklyn's own Beirut awaited them.

Zach Condon would choose to begin Beirut's set with a simple "Good evening everyone", diving immediately into the set, to the rapturous applause of the hundreds in attendance. Using an impressive variety of instrumentation (stand-up bass, accordion, trumpet, trombone, french horn, euphonium, and Condon's signature ukulele), the band played a batch of tunes that appropriately ushered the audience to a variety of places around the world. "Gulag Orkestar" sparked a quick trip to the Balkans. During "The Shrew", a song from Beirut's brand new EP 'March of the Zapotec', Mexico became the destination of choice. They also dabbled in a track called "My Night With a Prostitute from Marseille"; this one from Zach Condon's 'Realpeoples' Holland' EP.

At the end of their full set, Condon would be forced to tell the still hungry crowd, "You've bled us dry at this point"; a statement that would hardly deter the crowd from demanding more. Two encores later, the love affair between Beirut and the fans in attendance was complete. They ended the show with a cover of a dancy old Brazilian song, written by Ary Barroso called "Aquarela do Brasil" ("Watercolor of Brazil"); a lighthearted way to send the happy crowd off into the cold streets of Brooklyn indeed.

очень интересный исполнитель, правда реально немного грустновато, ожидал услышать такие залихватские мелодии по Балканам :up: но мне нравится.
 
так, несподівано кльовий. залюбки сходив би на концерт.
 
на Балкан фест подмутить вместо гайдамаков было бы :up:
 
та навіть якби замість Кала або Фанфаре Чіокарліа -- я легко згодився б)
 
Классный коллектив, правда. Альбом 2007-го года заслуженно занял высокие позиции во всевозможных "топ-чартах". И хотя вцелом он мне показался немного скучноватым (или каким-то "ровным" может..), но сама атмосфера действительно уникальная, свежая, воздушная такая. Особенно порадовало, что это не еще один Брэгович, Кустурица, Ковач и др. - это не такие Балканы, здесь нету того "балагана", который я не особо люблю. Выделил несколько трэков, но самый любимый наверное этот:

Это не "клип", но общая задумка мне очень понравилась - стоит посмотреть (если кто-то еще не успел))! ...такой серьезный "арбузный" перкуссионист у них:up::smile:
 
Сижу, слушаю March Of The Zapotec / RealPeople Holland; по первой половине сабжу место в фолке, по второй - в электронике))) (Я утрирую, если что.) Но тем не менее, хотелось бы мнений слушавших больше.

перша половина особливо не вразила. хороше, але не огого.
друга половина теж особливо не вразила) тому що до цього я вже слухав The Joys Of Losing Weight (2001).

ось: Zach Condon's debut, his real debut: The Joys Of Losing Weight, a collection of 21 untitled songs released under the moniker The Real People.

This album has never been released, is not available for sale, and has never been seen or heard by anyone other than a handful of people who have personally received a copy of this record. It pre-dates all of his work with Beirut and does not bear any influence of the Balkan/Eastern Gypsy sound that he has become reknowned and critically acclaimed for; however, it's a highly precocious album that's steeped in amazing melodies draped against a backdrop of synthesized electronica: imagine an entire electronic/experimental album in the style of Scenic World with Zach's distinctive vocals and the occasional appearance of his famous brass instrumentation.

якшо комусь цікаво, ввечері можу залляти.
 
мне сейчас так нравится песня The Penalty. У Зака очень подходящий мягкий голос для этой песни.
